My E71 suddenly crashed today, i was talking on the phone then when i put it down after ending the call it just froze on me. Wouldnt even let me switch it off from the power button, i had to take the battery out to reset the phone lol.

Are you running the updated 200.21.188 firmware?

Then there is definitely new firmware for you :) viewtopic.php?f=108&t=445

Download the Nokia updater from here:
http://www.nokia.co.uk/get-support-and- ... e/download

Install it, plug in the phone and update! :) Make sure you backup all your data when offered. The phone gets wiped by the update.

Mine also crashed a couple of times with the new firmware. Already four times. Every single time was when I connected/disconnected the charger.

On a PC you have to do it using the device update software. Im not sure if this runs on a Mac but Id be surprised if it didnt.

Bear in mind to back everything up on your phone because upgrading the firmware literally wipes the whole thing back to factory default and you will lose everything stored in the phone memory (at least, it does on the e65, so Id say the e71 is the same).

Odd. Is this with the charger that came in the box, or an older one you tend to use? I merrily used my previous charger and wondered why my E71 took so long to charge up. Then I noticed the new charger still pristine in the box had 3x the current output!

This is indeed with the new charger. But it's not a problem because it only happened a few times since I got the phone.

I dont think a software upgrade will wipe out your 3 settings.

I purchased the same phone from 3 on the same day. I have to say I'm not as happy as I have been with other Nokias - the wlan keeps switching itself off...

I have tried to ugrade firmware but I have the most recent...
