I bought the samsung N135 for 269 euro, which I think is not too expensive. It has a mat screen, not like all the other that are glossy. This should improve outdoor use.
I also installed fedora 12 on it as a dual boot next to windows 7. It worked out of the box. Even the webcam worked.
The only problem I had was activating my legit windows 7. Luckily there are other ways, because the opening times for microsoft support are in my working hours (8:00 till 18:00).
